How a Team Store Fundraiser Works for Schools and Leagues

A team store fundraiser lets your school, PTA, league or club sell spirit wear online without collecting a single dollar in cash. Parents order their own sizes, pay online and the team earns money on every item sold.

Here’s how it works and how to set one up so it actually sells.

What a team store is

A team store is a private online shop with your logo on a short list of items: tees, hoodies, hats, joggers and whatever else fits your group. You share one link. Families pick their sizes and pay. When the store closes, everything is made in one run and delivered or picked up together.

Nobody has to collect order forms, chase payments or sort sizes in a spreadsheet.

Three ways to run it

Most stores fall into one of three setups:

  • Pop-up store. Open for a set window, usually a week or two, then everything is made in one batch. Good for start-of-season gear, spirit week or a tournament.
  • Permanent store. Open year-round so families can order anytime. Good for schools and clubs with steady demand.
  • Fundraiser store. Either type, with a set dollar amount from every item going back to the team.

These aren’t fixed rules. We work out the setup with each organizer based on what the group wants.

How the fundraising works

With a fundraiser store, a fixed amount from each item goes back to the team. The key is keeping prices close to what parents would pay anyway. If prices climb too high, fewer people buy and the team earns less overall. A fair price that sells well raises more than a high price that doesn’t.

The money can go to the school’s general organization account, the parent association or the team, and you get a clear accounting when the store closes.

What to put in the store

Less is more. A focused store sells better than one with 40 items. A strong lineup usually includes:

  • A tee in the team color
  • A hoodie
  • A hat or beanie
  • One or two extras, like joggers, a quarter-zip or a bag

Offer a plain version of the logo along with the team-specific one, so siblings, parents and other teams in the school can wear it too. For more ideas, see custom spirit wear for schools and fundraiser t-shirts that actually sell.

How to get parents to order

The store only works if people know about it. A few things that help:

  • Send the link in the team chat, the school newsletter and the parent email list.
  • Post a photo of a real sample, not just a mockup.
  • Give a clear close date and send a reminder two days before.
  • Ask coaches to mention it at practice.

What it costs the organizer

Setting up a team store is free, and there’s no minimum order. You don’t hold inventory or pay anything up front. Families pay for what they order, and the team earns its share on each item.

Getting started

To set up a store, we need your logo, the items you want, your colors and how you want to run it (pop-up, permanent or fundraiser). We build the store, send you the link to review, and you share it when you’re happy with it.
